Worship Ministry

At Woodlawn Baptist Church, our Worship Ministry exists to glorify God and lead our church family in meaningful, Christ-centered worship. Through music and media, our teams work together each week with one purpose—to point people to Jesus and create an environment where everyone can worship Him wholeheartedly.

Our Worship Team, made up of our Worship Leader and Praise Team, prayerfully seeks the Lord in selecting songs that proclaim His truth, celebrate His faithfulness, and give Him the praise and honor He alone deserves. Our desire is to encourage every person in the congregation to engage in worship, lifting their hearts and minds to the Lord and focusing on His glory.

Serving alongside the Worship Team, our Media Team plays a vital role in each worship service by managing sound, displaying lyrics and sermon visuals, coordinating video presentations, and sharing church announcements. Though much of their work happens behind the scenes, their faithful service helps create a seamless worship experience that allows our church family to focus on what matters most—worshiping God.

Whether your gifts are in singing, playing an instrument, audio, media, or technology, there is a place for you to serve. If you have a heart for worship and would like to learn more about becoming part of the Worship Ministry, we’d love to connect with you. Contact us at wbcmusic1949@gmail.com.

Adult Ministry

No matter where you are in your faith journey, our Adult Ministries are designed to help you grow in your relationship with Christ while building meaningful connections with others. At Woodlawn Baptist Church, we believe that spiritual growth happens best in community. Through Bible study, fellowship, missions, service, and special events, adults have opportunities to deepen their faith, encourage one another, and use their gifts to make a difference both within our church and throughout our community. Whether you’re new to Woodlawn or have been part of our church family for years, there’s a place for you to belong, grow, and serve.

Women’s Ministry

Our Women’s Ministry is a welcoming community where women can grow in their relationship with Christ while encouraging one another in faith. Throughout the year, women gather for Bible-centered fellowship, mission opportunities, conferences, and special events designed to strengthen friendships, deepen their faith, and have fun together as sisters in Christ.

Women on Missions (WMU)

Our Women on Missions (WMU) is passionate about sharing the love of Christ through prayer, missions, and service. In addition to supporting Southern Baptist mission efforts through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, the WMU serves our local community by partnering in outreach opportunities and showing Christ’s love through acts of kindness and encouragement.

Children’s Ministry

At Woodlawn Baptist Church, our Children’s Ministry is dedicated to helping children build a strong foundation in God’s Word and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe children are an important part of the church today, and our desire is to create a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where they can learn biblical truth, ask questions, and discover God’s love for them.

Children in Kindergarten through 5th grade begin the worship service with their families before being dismissed to Children’s Church prior to the sermon. This allows families to worship together while giving children the opportunity to learn God’s Word in an age-appropriate setting. At the same time, parents can remain in the worship service to be encouraged, refreshed, and equipped through the preaching of God’s Word.

Each week, children learn through Bible lessons, Scripture memory, worship, hands-on activities, and interactive resources that help them understand and apply God’s truth to their everyday lives. Our goal is to partner with parents as they disciple their children, helping them develop a lifelong faith and a love for God and His Word.

Youth Ministry

Youth

Our Youth Ministry exists to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ while building lasting friendships and a strong foundation of faith. We strive to meet students where they are, love them with the love of Christ, teach God’s Word, and encourage them to live out their faith by serving others. Whether a student has grown up in church or is visiting for the first time, they are welcomed, valued, and encouraged every step of the way.

On Wednesday evenings, students gather to enjoy a home-cooked meal, spend time together, and grow through fellowship and Bible study. From friendly games to meaningful conversations, every gathering is an opportunity to build relationships, have fun, and be encouraged in their walk with Christ.

Our desire is to equip students to shine the light of Jesus in their homes, schools, and communities. Through biblical teaching, authentic relationships, and opportunities to serve, we seek to help the next generation develop a faith that is personal, lasting, and centered on Christ.

Prayer Ministry

Prayer is at the heart of everything we do at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Our Prayer Ministry is made up of faithful believers who are committed to lifting up our church, our community, our nation, and the needs of others before the Lord. Whether the requests are for encouragement, healing, guidance, or praise, we believe in the power of prayer and the faithfulness of God to hear His people.

Our Prayer Team gathers each Wednesday from 6:00–6:30 PM to pray together and encourage one another. Throughout the week, members also receive email updates with prayer requests so they can continue faithfully praying for the needs of our church family and community.

If you have a heart for prayer and would like to become part of our Prayer Team, we would love to have you join us. To request to be added to the Prayer Team email group, contact us at wbcpray1949@gmail.com.
